Museum Code of Conduct and Rules
To ensure that everyone has an enjoyable experience at KidsWork, we kindly ask that our visitors follow our Code of Conduct:
We are Kind
We remember to exhibit kind behavior. We share and take turns, and we remember that we are all here to play, learn, and have fun.
We are Respectful
We are respectful to other guests, to museum staff, and to the museum itself. We use inside voices. We treat the exhibits gently and follow the rules of each exhibit. We clean up after ourselves.
We are Safe
We are always safe. We use walking feet (no running!), and we never throw or swing objects. We stay with our party, and we are especially mindful of the museum's littlest guests.
All visitors at KidsWork Children’s Museum of New Lenox are also asked to adhere to the following rules:
- All children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
- Visitors over the age of 18 who are not accompanied by a child may request a brief tour (dependent on staff availability).
- Museum exhibits must be used safely and appropriately. Guests must abide by any posted rules.
- KidsWork is a tobacco-free, drug-free campus. Smoking of any kind (including e-cigarettes or vaping devices) is not permitted on the museum grounds.
- Abusive, threatening, and obscene language is prohibited. This includes hate language or symbolism, as well as wearing or otherwise displaying profane or obscene content on clothing or elsewhere on one’s person.
- Firearms, weapons, or weapon-like objects are not permitted on the museum grounds.
- Strollers are permitted throughout the building.
- Shoes must be worn at all times on the museum grounds.
- No food or drinks other than water or baby formula are permitted within exhibit spaces. Food and drinks may be consumed in the outdoor picnic area. Guests are not permitted to bring glass containers or alcoholic beverages to the museum.
- Pets are not permitted at the museum. Service animals as defined by applicable state and federal regulations are welcome.
- By entering KidsWork Children’s Museum of New Lenox, you give permission to KidsWork for the recording of photographs and/or video of yourself and your party. You grant KidsWork all rights to use these images and video for educational, promotional, advertising, and other mission-related purposes. All rights to the photographs and video belong to KidsWork. If you do not wish for you or members of your party to appear in photographs or videos, please notify museum staff upon your arrival.
- KidsWork Children’s Museum of New Lenox is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged items. KidsWork assumes no liability for vehicles parked on its property.
- Individuals with contagious illnesses are not allowed to visit the museum, guests must wait until they are 24 hours free of a fever and/or vomiting to visit.
Please note that failure to comply with KidsWork Children’s Museum of New Lenox’s policies and guidelines may result in refusal of admission, revocation of membership, and/or removal of any person without refund at KidsWork’s sole discretion.
